The short version
ScanTrue collects nothing, tracks nothing, and shows no ads. It cannot do otherwise: the app has no internet permission at all, so nothing you scan can leave your phone through ScanTrue. That's the whole model.
What the app stores — and where
Your scan history, favorites, and settings are stored only on your device, in the app's own local storage. None of it is sent to B3N Digital or to anyone else. We run no servers for this app and receive no copy of your data.
If you delete the app, or clear the app's storage, that data is gone — it exists nowhere else. Pro users can export their history as a file; where you save or send that file is entirely up to you.
Camera images are processed on the device, in memory, by an on-device scanning model. Frames are never recorded, saved, or transmitted by the app. If you scan a code from a photo, the app reads the photo you picked and nothing else in your gallery.
What we collect
Nothing. ScanTrue does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. The app contains:
- No ads and no advertising SDKs
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No account and no sign-up — the app never asks who you are
- No third-party data sharing of any kind
- No INTERNET permission — you can verify this in the app's permission list before you install
Permissions
- Camera — required to scan codes. Used only while you are scanning.
- Google Play billing — present only so the optional Pro purchase can work through Google Play.
Actions you choose from a scan preview (opening a link, adding a contact, connecting to Wi-Fi) are carried out by your device's own apps and system, under their own privacy policies, and only when you tap.
Purchases
ScanTrue offers an optional subscription (Pro) at $0.99/month or $9.99/year, billed through Google Play; prices are shown in Google Play before you buy. All purchases are processed by Google Play under Google's own payment terms and privacy policy. B3N Digital never sees or stores your payment details. Purchase status is verified on your device through Google Play so the app can unlock Pro features.
Children
Because ScanTrue collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. The core promise — your scans stay on your device — is a design principle of the app, not a marketing line.
